Chiropractic Care for Costochondritis

Chiropractic Care for š‘š¢š› šššš¢š§

If you have ever had a rib out of place, you can relate to that intense pain in the chest or back that makes it hard to breath. When a rib is out of place, the pain can be pretty severe. The rib attaches to the breastbone in the front and articulates with the thoracic spine in the back. Each individual rib is supposed to move easily with each breath on the inhale and exhale. If a rib is stuck or misaligned that gliding motion becomes quite uncomfortable!

Chiropractors are specifically trained to evaluate rib articulation and correct subluxations that may be causing your pain or symptom. Rib pain can also be from a condition called Costochondritis. This is a fancy name which translates to inflammation of the rib and cartilage. Usually brought on by overuse injury to the muscles in the front of the shoulder and chest, it can be difficult to manage without proper evaluation. Often it is linked to the way we sleep, drive, or work.

Rib pain can also be caused by an intercostal muscle strain or pinched nerve, a trauma, pregnancy, etc. Chiropractic is a conservative, gentle, non-invasive, and safe treatment option that helps provide relief for various causes of rib pain. Reach out to us if you have any questions! We would love to help!
